HELP UNDERSERVED RWC MIDDLE SCHOOLERS WITH LITERACY NEXT YEAR WITH LOS AYUDANTES!
Volunteer classroom helpers ("Ayudantes") are needed next school year to help underserved Redwood City middle schoolers with literacy. Reading one hour a week with these students is all it takes to make a real difference! And you can become an important, trusted adult in the kids’ lives when you make this commitment to tutor them throughout the school year. Training is provided for this fulfilling volunteer opportunity!

SUMMER RIDING PROGRAM FOR KIDS 6-16
The “Un” Camp! Does your child live and breathe horses?? This is the place for them: Woodside Junior Riders is having its 75th summer session from June 13th to August 7th, 2022. 8 weeks of riding instruction for only $800! It’s like summer school for horse crazy kids.
Students to ride in 45 minute English riding lessons, and also learn all about horse care. There are still a few spaces available for children who have a bit of experience.

2. Tuesdays at The Portola Valley Town Center (Class One April 5th-May 31st; Class Two May 3rd-May 31st)

About the Instructor: Sangini Majmudar Bedner is a former Miss India USA, Stanford University graduate (Stanford Dollie), and professional performer who has been teaching tap, jazz and hip-hop for over 30 years. During her 10 years in Los Angeles, she acted in numerous television, theater and film projects, worked with top celebrities, and received national and international recognition for her performance and choreography. After moving to Portola Valley to raise her family, Sangini expanded her dance program to various schools in the Bay area.
Her classes prove that:
* Exercise can be fun
* Discipline can be enjoyable
* Self-expression can boost confidence
Sangini thrives on infusing all students with her endless enthusiasm and energy—she can’t wait to meet you!

AYSO REGION 25 LOOKING FOR FALL 2022 VOLUNTEERS!
Portola Valley AYSO Soccer will be returning Fall 2022! Are you looking for a fun introduction to soccer for your child? Or, do you just want a fun and encouraging environment where the emphasis is on everyone playing, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, and player development? Want to get to know other parents and families in the community? Join the American Youth Soccer Organization! AYSO brings together community members to create a fun, family-friendly environment where your child can grow and develop not only their soccer skills but their leadership and social skills for life. We are also looking for volunteers, both to join the board and help with the fall season. There are various roles with different time commitments, so there is something for everyone. You will work with the same teacher and students for one hour every week; RCP (formerly All Students Matter) provides training, mentoring, and scheduling. Current volunteer Eva D. says, “Being part of an organization that makes good use of my time and is well run really motivates me to give it my all.” Learn more about us at www.ravenswoodclassroompartners.org, and sign up to start tutoring in September 2022.

GIRLS ON THE RUN AT PORTOLA VALLEY TOWN CENTER - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Girls on the Run is not just about running; it’s also about empowering participants in all dimensions of health. Our after school program for 3rd-8th graders creatively combines physical activity with life skills designed to build character, enhance social-emotional health, and promote an active lifestyle.
Girls on the Run is for EVERY girl! We never turn a family away from our program who wants to join. To ensure everyone who wants to participate can do so, we offer financial assistance and payment plans during online registration.
The program season will begin the week of March 7. Teams will meet twice weekly after school for 75-90 minutes. The season is eight weeks long and will end with a celebratory 5K fun run on Saturday, May 14 at Quarry Lakes Park in Fremont.
With locations throughout Marin, San Francisco, the East Bay and San Mateo County, we hope to serve all interested families. A list of teams and meeting locations and times is available HERE.
